We are absolutely thrilled to share some incredible news with our Sheffield Children’s Centre family! 🌟 We have officially been awarded the prestigious Millie’s Mark accreditation! 🏆 This gold-standard endorsement is a testament to our unwavering commitment to the safety, health, and wellbeing of every child in our care. While the standard Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirement mandates that only one person on-site holds a paediatric first aid certificate, we believe our children deserve more. We have gone above and beyond by ensuring 100% of our staff are fully trained in paediatric first aid, placing safety at the absolute heart of everything we do. 🛡️Our environment and staffing team has undergone rigorous audits to reflect our achievement.

Millie’s Mark was introduced following the tragic death of Millie Thompson, who passed away due to a choking incident. Her parents campaigned tirelessly to ensure that all childcare staff are equipped with the skills to act decisively in an emergency. In the UK, accidental injury remains a leading cause of childhood mortality, and proactive training is essential to mitigate risks associated with allergies, choking, and sudden illness. By having our entire team trained—supported by clinical nurse-led sessions—and maintaining on-site defibrillators and fully stocked first aid stations in every room, we are ensuring that we are not just compliant, but prepared at all times with a confident team. 🩺✨ Our staff reflections and continuous training mean that first aid knowledge is always at the forefront of our minds, providing you with the ultimate peace of mind.
